Five in the Afternoon - Returns Online

“Five In The Afternoon was recorded in the summer of 2007 after I met Pat Arnold by chance at friends party…we sang a couple of songs together that night and a lightbulb went on in my head so I wrote the album really quickly and lined up some old friends…Marco Nelson , Crispin Taylor , Tansay Omar and Rob Appleton to play on it.

We went to a local studio down in the Spanish port town of Motril and recorded it in a few days..mostly live. It had a kind of soul/folk hybrid..we definitely caught something special.

Unfortunately the record company we used went under just as we releasing the record so it went almost unnoticed except for a few diehard fans.

I’m really pleased that its finally coming out properly .

Pat is a warm-hearted and kind soul and the ‘real deal’ as a singer..it was a privilege to stand and sing alongside her. “ Dr Robert
